Accessibility Statement
We want this site, and our office, to work for everyone. Here is what we do and how to tell us when we fall short.
Our commitment
Edkin Dental is committed to making dental care reachable for everyone, and that starts before you arrive. We treat digital accessibility as part of patient care rather than a compliance exercise, and we keep working at it as the site changes.
The standard we build to
This site is built to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. In practice that means:
- Text contrast that meets the AA ratio against its background, including on the dark sections.
- Every control reachable and operable by keyboard alone, with a focus outline you can actually see, and a skip link to jump straight to the main content.
- Real headings, landmarks and lists, so a screen reader can navigate by structure instead of reading everything in order.
- Text alternatives for images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology so they do not add noise.
- Accordions, menus and carousels that announce their state, and a page that reflows without horizontal scrolling down to 320px.
- Motion that respects your reduced motion system setting: turn it on and animations are replaced with plain, immediate transitions.
- Text you can enlarge to 200% without losing content or breaking the layout.
Known limitations
We would rather name these than let you discover them:
- Online booking. Appointments are scheduled through NexHealth on their own website. We do not control that page and cannot guarantee its accessibility. If it gets in your way, call us and we will book the appointment with you over the phone — the same times are available either way.
- Insurance carrier logos. These are supplied by the carriers. Every logo has a text alternative, and the full list of plans we work with is also written out in plain text next to them.
- Maps. Directions link out to Google Maps. Every address is also written out as text on the Contact page so you never need the map to find us.
Accessibility at the office
If you need step-free access, extra room for a wheelchair or walker, a longer appointment, a quieter time of day, or an interpreter, tell us when you book and we will arrange it.
Our dentists and staff see patients in English, Spanish, Romanian and Russian, so you may not need an interpreter at all — ask when you call.
Tell us if something does not work
If any part of this site gets in your way, we want to hear about it. Tell us the page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what happened — and which browser, device or assistive technology you were using, if you know.
